No. Damaged and defective lithium batteries are dangerous goods. You need approved packaging in accordance with the applicable packing instruction (e.g. P908 or LP904; for critically defective batteries P911 or LP906), the correct marking and trained staff.

Robust construction and insulation keep flames and projectiles inside the container. The smoke gas management system prevents overpressure and filters the escaping gases. No extinguishing water is required.
