On 1 July 2026, the Eurovignette was replaced in the Netherlands by a distance-based truck toll. With this change, the Netherlands is aligning itself with many European countries that already calculate their tolls based on the number of kilometers traveled, the vehicle’s size, and environmental factors (EURO emission classes and CO2 efficiency).

The Dutch toll applies to vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of more than 3.5 metric tons on nearly all Dutch highways, as well as on a selection of regional and municipal roads. The toll road network covers approximately 3,000 km.
