Salzburg, Leonding, June 11, 2026. Lagermax Logistics Austria GmbH has successfully completed the acquisition of freight forwarder Keimelmayr in Leonding, subject to approval by the competition authorities. This move paves the way for a sustainable future for Keimelmayr, a medium-sized logistics company based in Upper Austria. At the same time, Lagermax is strengthening its Austrian network in Upper Austria and thereby its market position in key segments of the transport and logistics sector.
The Keimelmayr freight forwarding company has established itself over five decades as a reliable partner for customers across various industries. The previous owner has now decided to hand over the company to Lagermax as part of his planned successor arrangement. A key factor in this decision was, in particular, the desire to secure his life’s work for the long term and to offer employees and customers stable prospects for the future.
“After many successfully years, it was important to me to find a solution that would ensure the continued existence of our company whilst opening up new prospects for our employees,” explains the previous owner, Hubert Keimelmayr. “In Lagermax, we have found the right partner who shares our values, appreciates our services and will continue to develop the company sustainably.”
For Keimelmayr’s employees, the takeover means, above all, continuity and security. All existing employment contracts will remain in place. Customers can continue to rely on their usual contacts, high quality of service and reliable logistics solutions.
Lagermax also recognizes great potential in the takeover. By integrating Keimelmayr’s expertise and market knowledge, the existing range of services will be specifically expanded. With the additional expertise of the Lagermax Group, it will be possible to offer customers even more comprehensive transport, logistics and service solutions from a single source in future.
“Keimelmayr has an excellent reputation in the market and boasts a dedicated team with a high level of professional expertise,” emphasises Alexander Friesz, CEO of the Lagermax Group. “The acquisition is another important step for us. It ideally complements our existing offering and creates new opportunities to serve our customers even more comprehensively, particularly in the Upper Austrian market. At the same time, we look forward to welcoming Keimelmayr’s employees to our group.”
The acquisition creates a strong combination that brings together tradition, experience and innovative strength. Both companies are convinced that this step lays the foundation for further sustainable growth and long-term success.
